The material of the glass

1. Soda lime glass

Glasses, bowls, etc. for daily use are all made of this material, which is characterized by a small temperature difference. For example, pour boiling water into a glass that has just been taken out of the refrigerator, and it is likely to burst. In addition, heating soda lime glass products in microwave ovens is not recommended due to the same safety risks.

2. Borosilicate glass

This material is heat-resistant glass, and the common glass crisper sets on the market are made of it. It is characterized by good chemical stability, high strength, and sudden temperature difference greater than 110 °C. In addition, this type of glass has good heat resistance and can be safely heated in a microwave or electric oven.

But there are also some precautions to pay attention to: First, if you use this type of crisper to freeze liquid, be careful not to overfill it, and the lid should not be tightly closed, otherwise the liquid that expands due to freezing will put pressure on the lid and shorten it. The service life of the box lid; second, the fresh-keeping box that has just been taken out of the freezer cannot be heated in a microwave oven; third, when heating the fresh-keeping box in the microwave oven, do not cover the lid tightly, because when heating The resulting gas can squeeze the lid and damage the crisper. In addition, prolonged heating can also make the lid difficult to open.

3. Glass-ceramic

This type of material is also called super heat-resistant glass, and the very popular glass pots on the market are made of this material. It is characterized by particularly good heat resistance, and the sudden temperature difference is 400 °C. However, at present, domestic manufacturers rarely produce glass-ceramic cookware, and most of them still use glass-ceramic as cooktop panels or lids, so there is still a lack of standards for such products. It is recommended that consumers check the quality inspection report of the product in detail when purchasing to fully understand the performance of the product.

4. Lead crystal glass

It is commonly known as crystal glass, which is generally used to make goblets. It is characterized by good refraction, good hand feel, and a crisp and pleasant sound when tapped. However, some consumers questioned its safety, believing that using this cup to hold acidic beverages would lead to the precipitation of lead, which is harmful to health. In fact, this kind of worry is unnecessary, because the country has strict regulations on the amount of lead precipitation in such products, and has set experimental conditions, which cannot be replicated in daily life. However, experts still advise against long-term storage of acidic liquids in lead crystal glasses.
