Polishing method of double-layer glass

Double-layer glass manufacturers will polish their products during the production process. The main reason for this is to ensure the usability of the product and the cleanliness of the product surface, so as to avoid the roughness of the product surface. Let us learn the polishing methods used in glass processing below.

1. Acid treatment and polishing: The corrosion of the glass surface by acid is used to treat the surface. Before polishing, abrasive belt polishing is also required, because acid polishing can reduce the thickness of the glass itself and may not completely remove the particles on the glass surface. The compounding method of the acid solution needs to be changed with the different materials of the double-layer glass.

2. Flame polishing: The surface of the cup is softened and baked by flame, and some diagonal lines and wrinkles on the surface can be removed by flame impact. Many hollow double-layer glass cups will be flame polished after cutting, but this treatment method will reduce the flatness of the glass surface, and it is easy to be blown up. Most applicable glass materials are soda lime glass and borosilicate glass.

3. Polishing powder polishing: This method uses high-speed rubbing of the glass surface to remove scratches, which can improve the light transmittance and refraction effect of the cup to a certain extent. Before polishing, the parts need to be polished with an abrasive belt (diamond grinding disc with 400 meshes or more). This method uses a lot of materials, and the good effect is cerium oxide (rare earth polishing powder), but this process is very slow and is suitable for most glass products.
